Resettlement Done Properly:
1:1 Recruitment Mentorship and Coaching

Go from Civvie Street uncertainty to confident decisions and career strategy that
actually fits your life.

You're not looking for motivation.
You're looking for clarity.

You want to leave the military knowing you’ve chosen a direction that actually fits, not just something you can do, but something that feels right for you.

Jenny Roberts, career and resettlement coach for UK service leavers

If resettlement feels messy right now, that’s not because you’re doing it badly.

It’s because you’re being asked to make big decisions without the structure you've relied on for most of your career.

Here’s what’s happening:

  • You drift towards roles you could do, rather than roles you’d genuinely want.

  • You know you've got strong experience, but translating it into civilian language feels unnatural, and forced.

  • You’re attending events, having conversations, exploring options yet instead of things narrowing, everything feels more uncertain.

  • Your CV and LinkedIn don’t quite line up, leaving you unsure whether you're underselling yourself, or aiming in the wrong direction

  • Interviews aren't the problem.  Putting your extensive experience into words with confidence is.

Underneath all of that is something simpler.

You don’t need more advice.

You need someone alongside you who understands both military service and civilian reality, and can help you think clearly before making the wrong move.

Who am I?

Hi, I’m Jenny.

I work with service leavers who want to leave the military well.

Not quickly. Not reactively. And not by underselling themselves just to get something on paper.

I can do this work because I’ve seen resettlement from both sides.

  • I served in the Royal Air Force.

  • I’ve navigated my own transition into civilian work.

  • I’ve spent over a decade in recruitment and hiring roles -reviewing CVs, interviewing candidates, and making real hiring decisions where risk, fit and confidence matter.

Leaving the Forces isn't just a job change.

It changes how you see yourself, how you judge your experience, and how confident you feel on making big career decisions.

That's where my work sits.

I help service leavers make sense of their experience, work out where it fits now and move forward deliberately, instead of defaulting to any old job under pressure.

This isn’t generic advice or surface-level tips.

It’s grounded, 1:1 support shaped by lived experience and a deep understanding of how hiring decisions are made.

Why Me?

I’ve spent over a decade working in recruitment and senior management roles - reviewing CVs, interviewing candidates, and making hiring decisions inside complex organisations.

I’ve hired into high-stakes environments, built teams, and made decisions where risk, fit, and accountability mattered.

That’s experience is why I don’t see resettlement as a job-search problem.

What often gets in the way isn't effort or ability - it's how decisions are being

made on the other side.

I understand how employers actually read experience, where strong capability can get lost, and what makes a candidate feel credible and low-risk.

This perspective shapes how I work with clients.

Not just helping you explain what you’ve done,  but helping you position it so decision-makers can immediately see where you fit, and why choosing you makes sense.

The aim isn’t to get you any old job.

It’s to help you move into the right role, at the right time, without

having to undo rushed decisions later.
