Introducing: The Resettlement Brief

If you're reading this, chances are you're somewhere in resettlement, or at least starting to think seriously about life after service.
Here's why I've started this blog. Or fortnightly briefing, if you like.
Not to add more noise.
Not to recycle generic advice.
Not to tell you to "just network more" or "rewrite your CV again."
I've started The Resettlement Brief because I actually want to help Service Leavers make better decisions during one of the most important career transitions of their lives.
Because you only resettle once - and most people are expected to figure it out through guesswork, opinion overload, and well-meaning but generic or misaligned advice.
What this is (and isn't)
This is a fortnightly briefing designed to give you:
Clear instruction
Practical education
Calm, strategic guidance
Actionable steps you can actually use
All grounded in:
Real resettlement timelines
Recruiter and hiring-manager reality
What I see working (and not working) with Service Leavers every single day
This is not motivation for motivation's sake.
It's not "10 jobs you can do after the military."
And it's not rushed, fear-based advice that leaves you more stressed than before.
Why I'm showing up like this
I do this work because I've lived it. And because I've seen too many capable, experienced Service Leavers lose confidence unnecessarily during resettlement.
You deserve clarity.
You deserve straight answers.
And you deserve guidance that respects the level you've operated at.
Here, you'll get something useful - whether you're 6 months out, 2 years out, or just starting to think "what next?"
Welcome to The Resettlement Brief.
